What if there was only one?

Interesting thing happened to me recently...

One

In a world where worth is oftentimes measured in 'likes' and 'hearts', it is sometimes easy to get tempted into believing such a lie. I confess, it has happened to me. The other day I took a step back, looked at all the work I've been putting into maintaining this ministry going and realized that my sites visit are not like high at all, my social media followers are not crazy high, in one of my channels I literally have 4 followers... as looked at these metrics I asked myself, is what I'm doing even worth it? After all, who's even reading what I write or share? Then the following verses came to mind:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." - Luke 15:4-7

Jesus goes after the ONE. He would surely accept the masses, but His focus is on the One. One soul that listens to His word and message... ONE, is enough occasion for rejoicing in heaven. God's response to me was clear. I might not see who's on the other side of the screen, I know some people do see the posts, but all I need to care about is help Jesus' message get to the ONE. Even if all these hours of ministry work amount to ONE soul who got close to Jesus or heard His word... that is enough for Jesus and, in turn, is enough for me. Many likes, hearts, followers... none of that matters. What matters is that there's at least ONE person out there who gets closer to Jesus.

Friend, temptation and discouragement comes in many ways... don't fall into the trap. Jesus came for you. He came for me. He didn't hanged out in the popular spots and often times avoided the spotlight. Jesus ministry has never been about popularity and fame... but about the ONE.

Don't ever let the enemy discourage you on your work for Jesus. Never.

Never forget.
