Merry Christmas 2024!

Merry Christmas!

Having been born and raised in Puerto Rico, and even more than here in the U.S, christmas has always been my favorite time of the year. As a matter of fact, for us Puertorricans, as soon as November 1st kicks-in, it's already Christmas... all the way until mid to late January. There's just something so special about the holiday: the lights, the food, the christmas spirit in people, the gifts, the christmas trees... everything about Christmas just inspires happiness. But there is more to Christmas than just the material-stuff there is to it, and even more than the family gatherings: it is a season to remember the birth of Jesus. The single most important human being to have walked this planet. Funny, to Him, you are the single most important human being (we all are... equally important). No. I am not saying that Jesus was actually born in Christmas, and I know what other "conservative" christmas may say about Christmas being actually a pagan holiday tradition that goes back many years... I know. But if every day we should be thinking about Jesus and connecting with Him, what's wrong, then, about taking advantage of the cheerfulness of Christmas celebrations to remember the Savior who was born unto us? What better "excuse" than to use this to our advantage and remind the world and teach our children of Him who came to live a perfect life for us? In the book of Luke, chapter 2 and verses 8-14 we read:

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!

What a beautiful scene, no? What a joy to remember this event whether now or at any point in the year... Whenever "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas", remember that there was One who came to live for us in the flesh and embody the love of God. God is SO GOOD!

Merry Christmas my awesome friend. May you have the best holiday season ever and may God bless you and your love ones. Until next one!
