“As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” (Romans 14:11)
The entirety of humanity will one day stand in front of the great Judge. Some for everlasting life, others for everlasting death. Which group will you be a part of?
Many think that God's destruction of the wicked upon His coming is merely a punishment because they did not adhered to God's commandments. Such a thought could not be further from the truth. I personally dislike going to "nightclubs". I have never been to one, and I never will. To many, nightclubs are fun places, to me, attending would simply be torture. A similar analogy can be used when talking about salvation. God's kingdom is a kingdom of love, goodness, mercy, sharing, selflessness... there's no "I" there. Every living being lives to give honor and glory to God the Creator. To be happy in such a place, one would need to walk and prepare for that place. For a person who enjoyed their wicked and selfish ways of living, heaven would be torture; would be a place where he or she would feel out of place and uncomfortable. Death, as horrible as it may sounds, may actually feel like mercy when one compares it to the reality of eternity. Ceasing to exist in the blink of an eye or living eternally in a place you despise... which sounds like a better option?
When Jesus returns it will be to give each one according to their ways of living. He is just and we will all, willingly, one day acknowledge this truth. God is a loving God and while there's breath in your lungs, there's hope. Listen to His call. Hear His voice calling you and, most importantly, accept the call.
