A commonly underestimated Bible verse...

Hello and welcome my beautiful friend. Thanks for being here with me today. Just a few days ago I was reading and studying the Bible when I came across this commonly known verse:

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." - Matthew 6:25-33

...and that's when it hit me. You see, for most of us as christians, we read verses like these and think about the immense love of God, we frame the verses, preach them at the church, quote it from time to time... but that's about it. When I read through it this time it finally clicked on me. Far beyond than being a beautiful statement, Jesus is here prescribing a lifestyle; a living standard. The question is, are we as christians living to that standard? Are we really putting our trust in God to the extent that we no longer worry for the daily affairs?

These verses are not just statements, but a promise. God promises that if we give Him the first place in our lives, He WILL provide the things that we need on a daily basis. Oh how many of us suffer from stress as to what we'll eat and wear!! If only we would come to God and trust that He will keep His word, life would be much more peaceful. Friend, if there's something that I want you to take this week from this post is this: TRUST GOD. Give Him the first place in your life and stop stressing for the daily affairs... do your part, and let God do His. He promised He will.

In case you doubt God always provide...

  • The people of Israel wondered the dessert for 40 years and they always had food, water, clothing and their shoes never wore out...

  • Elijah found himself alone in the woods and God send birds to feed Him

  • Daniel was never left alone, even at the bottom of the lion's den

... and on and on the list goes. Friend... GOD NEVER FAILS. Never forget.

Until next one!
